Band plan automatically selected based on your Maidenhead locator. Visual alerts when frequency is out of band or segment. Common frequencies (FT8, FT4, CW, PSK31...) in one click.

Duplicate detection

Real-time "Worked Before" indicator. Detects if you've already contacted the callsign on the same band/mode.

Multi-park

Assign multiple park references to a single QSO. POTA activation validation (10 unique QSOs required).

Optional modules

Map, Spots, Propagation and Statistics are all optional modules you can toggle on or off in settings. Perfect for activations with limited bandwidth (shared 4G, satellite...).

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before getting started.

Is xOTA free?
Yes, xOTA is completely free. No subscription, no in-app purchases. Download and use it without limits.
Which operating systems are supported?
Currently, xOTA supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). macOS and Linux versions are planned for the future.
Does it work without internet?
Yes! xOTA is designed "offline-first". QSO entry, logbook management and ADIF export work without internet. Only real-time spots, callsign lookup and weather require a connection.
How do I import my old QSOs?
Use the ADIF Import function (Ctrl+I). xOTA supports the ADIF 3.1.6 format with 38 fields including distance, bearing, CQ/ITU zones, DXCC and propagation mode. You can also import CSV files.
Is my data synced to the cloud?
No, all your data stays local in a SQLite database on your machine. No data is sent to any server. You have full control over your logs.
How do I connect my transceiver (CAT)?
xOTA supports CAT control via OmniRig v1. Connect your transceiver to OmniRig, then enable the connection in xOTA settings. Frequency and mode sync automatically.
Can I disable modules to save bandwidth?
Yes! The Map, Spots, Propagation and Statistics modules are all optional and can be toggled on or off in settings. Great for activations with limited connectivity (shared 4G, satellite...).
